Shayne Fitz-Coy

Shayne Fitz-Coy is an operator-investor who buys companies and builds people.

Fitz-Coy is Co-founder and Co-CEO of Sabot Family Companies, the long-term holding company he co-founded with Arar Han in 2016, and CEO of Rustic Pathways, the educational travel company that runs programs in 38 countries.

He co-created the Climate Leaders Fellowship with Dr. Alice Siu from Stanford University’s Deliberative Democracy Lab and John Hsu.

Fitz-Coy teaches Introduction to Private Equity at Seoul National University.

Earlier in his career, he held roles at Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS), JPMorgan Chase, Rhythm NewMedia (now RhythmOne), and Balsam Brands.

He holds a B.A. in Psychology, cum laude, from Harvard College and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Fitz-Coy serves on the board of the Rustic Pathways Foundation.

Fitz-Coy’s psychology degree, earned cum laude from Harvard College, laid the foundation for a people-centered approach to business leadership he writes about as the Teaching CEO.

He buys people-centered companies and holds them for the long term, developing the people inside each one under a principle he calls Capitalism with Love, so the business compounds and customers, employees and investors all win.

Fitz-Coy has more than 15 years of experience in business leadership and investment. In 2013 he led the turnaround of ResponseLink, the investor-operator experience that shaped Sabot’s operator-investor model.

In 2016 he and Arar Han co-founded Sabot Family Companies.
